California permits hemp-derived CBD products with ≤0.3% THC for sale and possession, consistent with the 2018 Farm Bill. The California Department of Food and Agriculture oversees the state hemp program. Note that the addition of CBD to food and beverages remains subject to California Department of Public Health regulations.
