The District of Columbia enacted the Hemp Farming Act of 2020, legalizing hemp cultivation and hemp-derived CBD products with ≤0.3% THC consistent with the federal 2018 Farm Bill. The DC Department of Energy and Environment oversees the hemp program. CBD products are legally available for sale and possession throughout the District.
